In a world plagued by violence, Arden Verity, a cautious and careful teenager, lives with his adoptive little sister Lisa. The two of them reside in a suburban home-turned-fortress in small-town, New Jersey. He lead a normal life, normal for the apocalypse at least, until one day when a mysterious stranger breaks into his house and begins the first part of a journey that would test his very soul against the powers of madness, and what happens when it leads to the largest conspiracy ever unveiled by man.

Six high school students looks like anyone else acts like anyone else but are capable of things no one else is. They learnt from a young age no one that means NO ONE can know about their powers even their parents and other siblings. It brings out the true friends and those who just want to use you. In the end, what do you do when your closest friend betrays you? This is the story as they try to keep their biggest darkest secret of what they are capable of and as they discover they're not the only ones like them... I am not very good at trigger warnings before individual chapters but there is mention of blood, cold abuse and parents divorcing. (But read at your own risk in case I mention something else. A coming of age story told about a boy who has to repeat 8th grade, gets afflicted with a case of boy-who-cried-wolf at the exact time bizarre and unspeakable things begin happening around his New Jersey town. The science fiction is similar to the conspiracy of The X Files. Horror and thriller wise it is has a lot of the same genetics as IT and Stranger Things. But the characters have real heart, they will make you laugh and care about them when they struggle..or are attacked by thousands of brown recluse spiders. The highest levels of government are trying to conceal the panic and erase the stories of survivors. Typical 8th grade stuff.Complete
