Have you ever been scared of your own hands? Kaia has. Her hands were a curse. One minute they had the power to heal and others they had the power to kill and she, she had no way to know which it would be or how to control it. Scary right? Does that kind of power freak you out? Make you wonder how you could live with it if it were you? She knew she did. Kaia can tell you one thing...it was not easy.

Her story started with her running from a beast and from there everything went haywire.

Twists and turns at every corner, and that beast was the biggest twist of all.

Please keep in mind this is just a rough draft, there are probably quite a few mistakes. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Once I have completed the novel I shall edit it and repost. Thank you for taking the time to read my not so good writing.

Folktales and legends are the essence of childhood, but there comes a time when they must be left behind. Or must they? * * * I tilt my head to look at him. I have tears in my eyes; one is running down my cold cheek. I see his eyes widen and him falling to his knees beside the tub. He grasps my left arm forcefully, his eyes wide with fear. "You will never have me..." My voice breaks, but I manage to force out the words that are edged in my mind, and in my heart. "I curse you, everything you ever love shall die, everything you ever try shall fail, everything you ever wish for shall be denied you, my curse will ruin you, but the gods... the gods will end you..." I draw in a shaky breath, and gather the last of my strength. "The gods are as sardonic as they are vengeful... You shall die by the hand of The Spirit Warrior..." In the few moments after I say those words, there is utter silence and the only thing I hear is the sound of my blood hitting the water in the tub, which is already painted red. I see him opening his mouth and yell at me, yelling my name, but I hear nothing. I close my eyes and I feel only the blood steadily dropping from my wrist. "Put me in the same coffin..."

Strength, power, authority, and being feared is thought to be the things needed to survive in Akantha's world of the Othaminia. But sometimes, you need more. You need to fear, fear it's self. When the light of Akantha's world leaves, and she is left with her self in the fight to survive, she flees the the human world, all the while, keeping her big secret safe. With her adopted human family to look after her, you can't imagine anything going wrong. Years after, when Akantha is finally about to turn 16 and come to her full strength, the Othaminian kings guards turn up at her human house, wanting her back after her flee became public. When the turn up at Akantha's human house, Akantha was with her human friend. When she gets back to the home she has grown to love, she finds her Uncle has been shot in the leg, and her little brother suffering a head shot. Three men come into the room where the shots were fired, and Akantha has no choice, but o run, causing her to become a fugitive of police. Once again, for the second time in her life, the light fades away. I do not own any of the character names. However, I do own Othaminia, which is a mythical creature that I basically just created. The creature has the strength of a thousand men, their voice has this force that can blow people off their feet (literally), their hair can change colour and length, and their eye's can change colour. These people are something that I've been thinking of for the past few nights, and I really wanted to show the (wattpad) world. Hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoy writing it, and pleeeeeeaaaaaaase share, comment, and vote. It would mean a lot to me. Don't be a silent reader, cause I love to see what you think about my books, so enjoy, and and I hope you like it. See ya mythical creature lovers. Again, Enjoy.
