John Laurens was born and raised in South Carolina, and though his ideals had been discouraged, he always held the urge to fight for freedom. Growing up rich and privileged with an admirable education overseas, he didn't flaunt it, and although he could avoid conflict and lead a safe life, he wanted to fight. He wished to help free his country from Britain's unwavering hold, fight on the front lines and defend the land he called home. So, against his father's wishes, he returned to America early, abandoning his studies to join the Continental Army. It didn't take long for him to get distracted by a fellow soldier. Alexander Hamilton. An immigrant, a young poet, a kid with strong opinions. Argumentative, loud mouthed, annoying, yet oh so endearing. The way he talked with such passion, that glint in his eye, the smile that melted John's heart; he was falling into the same trap he swore he'd never approach again, and he was falling hard.
