Angels have always fascinated humans, inspiring them as beautiful visions of white and shining light. For the last few centuries, though, the angelic world and that of humans have slowly drawn apart. Once revered, the angels are now forgotten.

This society of angels still exists. They still watch over the humans, guarding them from evils come from other places and dimensions. They have simply withdrawn, leaving the human race to hurt itself. They watch from afar, no longer willing to endure the taint of human evil on them.

Callysta is one of the angels. She is different, though. She doesn't have wings. Every angel has wings, for they are one of the main defining traits that separate them from humans. She was born without them, and will never enjoy the feeling of soaring through the sky. When she meets a seer that predicts her rise to greatness and the coming if the new age of collaboration between humans and angels, she wonders if all that she has ever know is true.

One thing is for sure, and that is that nothing will ever be the same again for Callysta.
