I was tasked with writing a fractured fairy tale in my Creative Writing class. For anyone who doesn't know what a fractured fairy tale is: it is when you take a classic fairy tale and put your own unique twist on it to make it into something new.
Even though I am no longer in that class, I still have not finished this story (or many others for that matter) and will be working on it slowly. I will update the story with new chapters as I finish writing them.

Blair scheduled a visit with her Grandma and she wouldn't miss it for anything. They haven't talked in a while... mostly because Grandma is six feet under. To get to Grandma's grave, Blair must travel through the woods that lay in her path. What kind of story would this be if they were just ordinary woods though? Of course these woods are dark and sinister. Something evil lurks in the shadows. It doesn't like anyone wandering through its woods. Can Blair make it out and to the cemetery alive?

As if the thought of getting caught by Tate didn't scare her enough, what surely scared her was the thick silence in the air. When had the woods become so empty all of a sudden? I was a weird kid. I was the type that would always read and get good grades. I was considered a disgrace to talk to. But one day, I decided to change that. I have no parents. I looked at the eyes and a hand grabbed mine, pulling me off in a different direction. This isn't the best way to meet someone but what happens when they see more of each other?
