I was tasked with writing a fractured fairy tale in my Creative Writing class. For anyone who doesn't know what a fractured fairy tale is: it is when you take a classic fairy tale and put your own unique twist on it to make it into something new.
Even though I am no longer in that class, I still have not finished this story (or many others for that matter) and will be working on it slowly. I will update the story with new chapters as I finish writing them.

Blair scheduled a visit with her Grandma and she wouldn't miss it for anything. They haven't talked in a while... mostly because Grandma is six feet under. To get to Grandma's grave, Blair must travel through the woods that lay in her path. What kind of story would this be if they were just ordinary woods though? Of course these woods are dark and sinister. Something evil lurks in the shadows. It doesn't like anyone wandering through its woods. I looked at the eyes and a hand grabbed mine, pulling me off in a different direction. This isn't the best way to meet someone but what happens when they see more of each other? It probably would be all magical and perfect. But it isn't it's a horrible place, a terrifying place one in which some witches and warlocks hate so much they escape into a different world. Our world, but what happens to them then? Normally they know nothing of our world except that it's out there, but they're not alone. There is two groups, or guilds as the witches/warlocks call them. The guilds people work as professional killers, they all have different jobs to help each other. Such as real estate. One of the members is a warlock by the name of Rusty Blanchet. He's an ordinary warlock with a wife and kids, until one day something happens that sends him on and adventure to save everything he loves.
