At the age of ten, each human in the vampire stronghold is judged by their beauty, and given the chance to be sold off to vampires as slaves as to attain the privileges that could possibly occur. At the age of eighteen, they are to live with the vampires in which they were assigned, as personal slaves; used for blood- or rather, they are used as a plaything to their vampire. 

From a group of nominated slaves-to-be, a boy is selected. This boy? Yuuichiro Hyakuya. His master to be? Mikaela Tepes, gift of Lest Karr, and adopted son of Krul Tepes.
