Her breathing was rapid and her hands were trembling with fear, covered in dirt, with the thought that she would die here, alone. The blood slowly trickled down her leg, messy crimson contrasting with her pale skin. She was completely helpless, and if the blood loss didn't kill her, surely the biting cold would.

It wasn't soon until she fell unconscious.

When Lily's family was killed eight years ago, she'd frantically run out to the woods, where her memories became blurred by the presence of a wolf, a comfort she still wasn't sure was real. The only thing the memory had left her with was a silver streak in her hair. Something she hadn't seen in any other living human being (not one that was natural, anyway).

Her steps echoed loudly through the silence as she thumped through the woods as though the devil himself was at her heels. The adrenaline pumping through her veins held back the pains of the sharp cuts that the unmerciful wood grounds had tattooed on her bare feet. The branches danced along her fair flawless skin creating a pattern of it's own as it ripped through her plain white chemise which now spotted streaks of red and brown. The flimsy material, now drenched in sweat clung fiercely to her body like a second skin outlining every dip, every edge and every curve...... Her beating heart echoed through the silence in her head but she could still hear the growls of the beast that had been pursuing her relentlessly. She saw his yellow glowing eyes as he stepped through the woods and made his way toward her slowly. A predator and its prey.

Not being able to shift can really take its toll on someone. But for Lily, she's gotten used to it.
