Eternally Everlasting

Druig has spent thousands of years watching the humans destroy themselves. He knew his mission and he knew how Ajak would respond if he interfered. How useless he felt knowing he could stop all the pain and suffering, but every time he tried to, there was always someone there to stop him. Well, now he's had enough.

Makkari always knew what the mission was. She never had any doubt in Arishem, let alone Ajak. she believed what they were doing was for the betterment of mankind. She believed in Ajak and she believed in Arishem. Even though it hurts her to see the humans bring about heir own demise, she knew that evidently, it was for the greater good. It just had to be.

Now, standing on the steps of the temple was Druig and behind him were the people he grew to call family and most importantly, Makkari. His beautiful, beautiful Makkari. He already made his choice the moment he decided to push Ikaris aside and take control of the raging city filled with angry people. Even though he was closest to Makkari out of all the eternals, surely he couldn't ask her to come with him? To leave their family behind, to abandon the city and their mission so they could star anew ? Surely not. But the question did lingered in the air between them.
