A crazy project to bring back the dead, hidden government secrets, and a psychopathic god have about as little in common as this group of kids from various backgrounds, other than the fact that they distantly have a connection to the others. A nerdy writer, a con artist, a fighter, a simple party girl, and a worker with a hard life soon find themselves drawn into an adventure they would never forget. Soon they find themselves running from a killer with no obvious weakness, one who can survive bullet wounds and change more than his shape to get what he desires. Right now he's playing a game like a cat, but these youths will need to find a way to stop this madness before the killer decides the game is over. Told by shifting perspectives between the main characters, soon it can become difficult to tell who can be trusted and who is against who as all the secret sins are revealed. God doesn't need yo use mortal weaknesses to divide. He could end humanity with a wave of his hand. But it's a lot more fun to see them cave in fear as they run than it is to kill them outright. So let's have some fun, shall we?

Shattered

"Now, would I go to prison and atone for my sins? Yes, but I cannot. No matter how hard I've tried." ----- "I swear, I'm not crazy! I just...don't know if the truth is better than a lie." ----- "We're better off dead, aren't we?" "...Yeah, we are." "Good." ----- "What's the point in living when you're built without a purpose?" ----- "Deities, gods, whatever you call them, are nothing more than puppets; cruel, unforgivable puppets drenched in the blood of the very people they were supposed to protect." ----- "We've lived a thousand lives, and we were built for only one purpose; for if we weren't, then what right do we have to exist if not to live for solely that purpose? For their entertainment." ----- "We may be without muzzles, but we're still on a leash. Don't forget that." ----- "You lied to me, and that's how all this came to be." ----- To those who find themselves reading this, know that appearances will deceive you. So, until you're safe from them as well, trust everyone fragilely and have your loyalty lie with you, and you alone. (Book one) -Nyxe
