    Cyrus Grimshaw is a college graduate looking for a place to live out the rest of her life. She brings along her best friend Larson Pickins to keep her company. Cyrus soon learns when she moves to Marina, it's not an ordinary town. There is magic and danger all around her.
    
    Nora Carlyle, the town psychic, is a negative sensation in the town of Marina. Everybody says she's just full of silly stories to scare children and lure them for their money. Nora somehow convinces Cyrus that magic is indeed real and it needs to be saved: specifically the mermaid's magic.
    
    Cyrus is the only one who can save the mermaids from the sirens who will stop at nothing to push the mermaids to extinction.
    
    Can Cyrus really save the merpeople? Or is Nora just making all of this up?
