Jane is from England, despite the reluctance of her mum and dad, she leaves the safety of her family to room with her older sister. It was only for a year and she hadn't seen Amber in forever. 

However, when she arrives, Amber sets strict rules. Go home straight after school, don't talk to strangers and most definitely... Lock your bedroom door after 11:00pm. 

Jane could understand these restrictions. The Ghoul situation was most prominent in Japan and the murder poll only increased. 

Therefore, she didn't understand why she was willing to talk to the blonde boy on the train. He was strange... He was trouble.
