FRIDAY MORRISSEY transfers to a new school at the beginning of January. When students first notice her, they automatically think she's from a different universe. The way she dresses, the way she speaks, everyone finds her odd. She doesn't try to make new friends. Instead, she isolates herself, hoping no one will speak to her.

SAL CAPO is a retired, high school jock. He sees the good in people and doesn't judge someone he automatically meets. Sal has a heart of gold, unlike his other friends. He doesn't see Friday the way his friends see her. When he first talks to Friday, he realizes she's more than the way she looks.
