World Population: A Couple Billion?
Everyone knew about the multi-decade war that led to their species being the only ones to roam the earth.
What was know as the Unnamed War that eliminated humans and monsters, but somehow conceived an all new era of man that is both, left the earth in a constant early 2000-esque era. Human-Vampires and Human-Werewolves still felt as if their exact becomings was a mystery well into the third and fourth generations.
The werewolves and vampires usually hate each other but refrain from engaging in mass murder, at least not the newer generations. They do, however, mostly live in mixed communities regardless of their quarrels. Humans naturally crave companionship which override the monsters' urge to isolate themselves from each other.
There are seldom friend groups containing both races and even rarer events have lovers being a different race, which is deathly illegal, anyway.

Vampires aren't just blood-craving monsters who hunt humans; we are peaceful. We do have sharp fangs, that much is true, but we aren't allergic to garlic; in fact, some of us love it, myself included. We don't burst into flame, or melt in the sunlight, and we definitely do not sparkle in the sun either. But I'm what we call a "Maturling". Maturlings are at least a century old. In vampire years, I'm one hundred, on the dot. Though in human years, I'm about twenty-one. There is a third category of vampires called "Purelings". Purelings are vampires who have always been － well, vampires, － and have never had a single human in their family tree. Purelings, unlike all other vampires, can turn a human at any age. (Imagine being turned into a vampire by a toddler... yikes). Like with all cultures, there are things that are forbidden.
