Being a new villain on the block is a very hard life. With my mother being The Seamstress, Lilac City's personal nightmare, I have the pleasure of learning from the best. I have grown up around all the evil-doers in Lilac City and its surrounding areas, learning how to properly boast about my new plot to take over the world, how to threaten a city properly, and how to escape the cops. The one thing that I was never taught how to do was to overcome my Mother's shadow. Everyone is expecting me to be at the same level of evil as my matriarch, but I want to surpass that. I want to be the person that everyone is afraid of, so afraid that even superheroes are stricken with fear when they hear my name. Except that is a long time away. With my powers still developing I have so much to do. I don't even have a name yet, but it will come around eventually, or at least I hope it will.

"I've tried telling them I'm only fifteen. That no sane government would force a boy my age to fight crime. 'But Max, you're a superhero! Isn't this what you want?' Actually, no. I just kind of want to get through high school. Then we'll talk about this 'superhero' business." Max Owens is your average high school sophomore. Well, he tries to be, at least. At fifteen, he's got more important things to do than fight the infamous Vinicus Cauldwell. Meanwhile, Vinicus Cauldwell enjoys the power he has as Murkbourne's most feared super-villain. For once, he can sit back and relax without being pestered by the police. That is, until Max arrives. Vinicus isn't happy about having to fight a child, but he can't let Max find out. After all, super-villains can't be "good people"... Can they? We can't all be born heroes. I live in a pretty screwed up world. I mean, we all do, but mine's a little more screwed up than your average American city. First off, I have that cliché sort of crush on my best friend. The second part of that cliché is that he's interested in every other girl but me. Second, we have superheroes. A lot of them. Flying everywhere like annoying insects, teleporting like it doesn't scare the crap out of the rest of us, defeating bad guys like they're the new Mr. Incredible. The whole works. The third thing is, I'm one of those superheroes. As soon as she thinks she's got him under control, the wildfire spreads chaos through both of her lives-as Shadow and Kiera. Now, not only does he have to deal with school, his almost non existent social life and his aggravating younger brother, but he also has to fight super villains and learn to control his new found powers to avoid blowing his cover to the world...and it is a lot harder than he anticipated. Prepare for a roller coaster ride of lame one liners and painfully awkward adolescent behaviour, along with bromances and romances, breakups and make ups, and even some cliché superhero behaviour, villains who hold a grudge, and really dorky super suits.
