A girl has high grades at school and she begins to come to the end of school when a teacher she knows asks her to come and work for him as a babysitter /nanny. She moves into his house and learns that his partner is hardly around. Once she begins to look after the two kids the teacher realises that the kids love her and she loves the kids. But as his partner not being around he starts to fall for the girl even though he knows he shouldn't. He gives her lifts to school for the last few weeks then as he realises he loves her he calls into his partners hotel room as she is in town to only find that she has found someone else and has started again with them. He breaks it off fuming then goes to find the new love of his life and asks her to be his girlfriend. She agrees and then they live their lives freely with his kids and maybe another little one. But they are also magically powerful, and the King of Rosas knows this. The great sorcerer King Magnifico founded Rosas with the sole purpose of harvesting this power. His people, when they turn 18, give him their wishes in exchange they get to live in a safe, beautiful, and prosperous kingdom completely for free. And once a year, a lucky citizen may have their wish granted, returning back to whole. However giving up a wish is a difficult thing. It's like taking away a part of your soul, leaving behind an empty gap no material object will fill. Asha, a 17 year old girl who has yet to give up her wish, watched as this emptiness consumed her grandfather. He is about to turn 100 years old, which means he has lived almost 82 years with that emptiness that seemed to just grow and grow over the years, but he is a strong man, never giving up on the dream that one year his wish will be granted. Asha, determined to make his wish come true, tries to become the King's apprentice, one of the sure-fire ways a wish could be granted, is to become the one who can grant it. But instead of learning how to grant wishes, Asha learns the dark reason why King Magnifico keeps them.
