Munnar is one among the most loved hill stations situated 1600 m (5400 ft) above sea level in the Indian state of Kerala. Munnar is stretched along the Western Ghats, which was a summer resort of the British government in South India. Munnar has many breathtaking sights and landscape perfect for honeymoon and even for a family vacation. It is pronounced "Moon-aar" meaning "Three rivers" in the Malayalam Language. The three rivers are - Mudhirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundaly which flow through this town but join some distance away from Munnar. Mountains covered with mist and acres of tea plantations, refreshing breeze, beautiful valleys and mud roads between tea gardens and some adventurous ride through the hairpin curves would be enthralling to anyone. Munnar also has the highest peak in South India, Anamudi, at 2695 m. The cool climate, spice-scented air, scenic nature and exotic flora and fauna attract a lot of travellers from across the globe.
