In a world where the bogey man takes on the form of meta- humans call the Advanced, there's an ordinary girl called Mila Abbott.
Mila, although she lost her family to the Advanced, had always been easy going and happy. She had it all: a gorgeous boyfriend, a best friend, and a spot in the Anti- Advanced Academy.
That is until in a series of events involving losing the people she loves the most and losing her humanity causes her to meet different people, including Ronan, an Advanced with a dark presence that brings out a part of herself she's never known and reunite with Cole, the boy she was going to give her life.
