Eight years after a deadly explosion in the heart of Times Square, the island of Manhattan becomes home to those known to the larger population as the Infected - though the official term is Esper. They are quarantined from the rest of the world in order to keep the Infection from spreading, essentially turning the once famous tourist spot into a prison with no escape. 

20-year-old Nero has spent nearly half his life living inside the barrier. Along with his closest friends, he's made a reputation for himself hunting down those like him who seek to cause trouble. His latest mission has him and his partner, Grey, tracking down an abducted Esper. 

After meeting and saving the captured Esper, Nero's world is once more turned upside down. He and his friends are chased out of what has become their home for years, hunted by strangers in black uniforms - as well as their own kind, and left fighting for their chance at freedom.All Rights Reserved

He and his older sister lived together, sticking to the dark alleys of their abandoned city, and survived for years after the apocalypse, until the Destroyers came and took her away, reigning terror on the few who remained in the city. The boy, desperate to find someone to help him save his sister, leaves the city and finds one of the youngest cooperative packs in North America, called the Raiders, comprised of unwanted individuals with the strange powers left from the destruction of years past. Their leader, a destructive insomniac, promises to help him in return for the skills and usefulness this young boy seems to possess, but something disrupting sends waves of unease through the Raiders, something about a forgotten past and talk of a mutiny.
