Six dead, thirty injured. That's what the news report said regarding the fire at a medical research facility in northern Washington, except witnesses that escaped the premises won't say a word and the bodies they announced were never recovered. But when a SHIELD surveillance team is visited the same day of the fire by what they can only describe as a girl with wings, the mystery begins to get deeper.
Maximum Ride lost her entire family in that fire, a detail she conveniently forgets to add when agent after agent lobs questions at her from a hospital room. She won't speak to a soul, not for anything in the world, and pushes away food like poison. Why shouldn't she? It's an out of the frying pan, into the fire situation to Max and SHIELD is the place that's going to make her burn. But as Max recuperates and finds as stable a home she can get, dark secrets from her past begin to resurface, causing everyone around her to beg the question... who is Maximum Ride?

Growing up as a Maximoff had its complications. Money was scarce, but life was good. Family was the only thing that brought Olive joy, and she was okay with that. She was more than okay. It meant so much more to her because she was taken under their wing when she was only four, having lost her birth parents at a very young age. When a bomb blows up in her home and kills her parents, she's broken and conflicted. She doesn't know what to do with herself, she tries living life the best she can but it's difficult. When a man decides to ask the Maximoff siblings to be test subjects, Olive finds herself regretful in following the twins. She may have been the youngest, but that didn't make her dumb. Eventually, the Avengers come in to play, while looking for a sceptre, they come across the Maximoffs and find themselves taking the youngest one with them. A year on from the battle of New York and everything was peaceful. Thor and Loki had also moved the the Avengers tower and life couldn't get any weirder to say the least. That's until the Avengers and Loki are sent out on a mission to find three extraordinary young girls. Enter Bethany, Ronnie (Adrienne is her really name) and Deanna. Three amazing girls with amazing talents that sets them on SHIELD's radar. Each girl once brought in (they are quite hard to find and persuade) is trained by two members of the Avengers to enhance their skills and hopefully bring them up to SHEILD agent standard. But three teenage girls and a group of Superhero's and a Villain in the same house/tower? What could possible go wrong? My guess... A lot. Having a lonely childhood was sad but not unheard of. Being able to control fire was definitely strange but in this world was not a phenomenon. But living with the avengers as a fourteen year old assassin, now that, that was extraordinary. Steve Rodger's never expected to be a father, especially not to an enhanced teenage assassin and agent but nevertheless he falls inlove with the kind hearted, funny and sweet girl that lays underneath the walls she has put up due to the years of hardship.
