Brandon Lee is your average preteen. Except he's Korean-American and has a superpower and a ghostly being residing in his body. Not your typical life. He's been running for a very long time, and it's not hard to see why. Lately, the government has been going hard on the specials laws that usually protect the people with powers like Brandon. They have given permission to people to begin testing on these specials, forcing many to flee. People have been encouraged to seek out these specials and to turn them in for a reward. Along the way, Brandon meets Ashley, another special. Together, they run around the country, trying to find a place where they can seek refuge, while also learning more and more about one another. Follow the two teenagers as they flee deeper into the woods. Follow Brandon as he explores Ashley's dark past. Follow Ashley as she realizes that Brandon is also not who he seems. (Hey guys. So, this is my second attempt at Not What He Seems. This time, it is in its own universe and not at all affiliated with the PJO universe. I wanted to see whether the book would work as a standalone. The original will not be deleted, even though it was pretty terrible. Hope you guys will enjoy it.)

As they loaded the car, Mark double-checked everything, while Jess made sure nothing was forgotten. During the car ride their car broke down in the forest, Nathan wandered off and discovered a hidden village. The villagers initially appeared hostile but eventually spared his parents. After standing up to bullies, he earned some respect, and his mentor began to soften, though Nathan still felt like an outsider, unsure if he would ever belong, Nathan never thought what his life will be like in the next 10 years.
