"I would be fine," I insisted.
"Sure. You would be fine for two seconds before your killed!" She emphasis the last word.
I waved away her concerns. I wasn't that weak, I knew some defense. However I had to admit she had a pretty good point, there was a good chance that I would die out there, that my body would never be found. That fact didn't weaken my resolve, in fact, it strengthen it. I opened my mouth, however I stopped upon smelling an awful smell. I wrinkled my nose, and my stomach twisted into tiny knots. The smell burned my nose, I had to resist the urge to gag, or puke. What was worse I could practically taste it, that horrid, rancid odor. It wasn't long before Lela caught a wiff, she quickly covered her nose, as if that would shield her from the toxic smell.
The smell wafted through the village, where was it coming from?
Lela gagged, "what is that awful smell! Bleh!"
My gut twisted, I felt like I knew this smell, my skin ran cold. It smells like death, like a corpse rotting, but the smell was overpowering, it wasn't one corpse, no more like dozens, if I had to guess.
