Charlene's life changes after the unexpected death of her uncle. No, she doesn't turn into a vampire/werewolf. She doesn't get magical powers and becomes a superhero. She doesn't meet a boy and falls in love (not what the plot is about, exactly). She doesn't become a coldblooded assassin. She doesn't get adopted by a super famous person. Her life just...changes.

She DOES meet a boy, but she doesn't instantly fall in love (she does think he's cute, though). He was caught using some sort of technology in the janitor's closet. Charlene followed him in there and began her questioning, to which he replied, 

"My name is Akira Sasaki, I'm from 2086. I am a Japanese detective investigating the case of the South Side Mafia, a gang of violent and blood thirsty men out to kill those who oppose their 'revolution'. I traveled back in time along with a friend of mine, and we were both to pick someone from this decade. And you're my chosen one." 

And from then on, Charlene had been mixed up in Akira's shenanigans.All Rights Reserved

What do you get when you throw a dozen flying pieces of paper, a writer, a cyborg, a bookish tsundere, a steampunky clockmaker, a photographer, and a gay guy on a bicycle together? The government and almost everything that's based on technology is being corrupted and there's only one facility that can put a stop to it before everything goes up in flames. The group is called upon to assist in the process since they each have their own unique abilities to put to use. No one knows if they'll be able to get rid of the virus in time or if they'll die trying. Who knew a few pieces of paper could do so much to 6 random strangers.
