Eren is the oldest boy at his orphanage at age 16.  His foster parent, Ms.Jules, is a cruel woman that abuses the children there.  Eren as the oldest gets most of the punishments.
Not only does Eren have his terrible foster parent to worry about but he also has school bullies.  He is very suicidal and these things don't help..

Eren hates his life and wishes only to end it, but when a new student, Levi Ackerman, transfers to his school, something changes in Eren.  A small will to live.
