Recently banished from a move by Snotlout, Astrid finds herself living among the Vikings of Huttsgalor. She ends up teaming up with the town's fellow dragon riders; nicknamed the Rescue Riders. But when a quest for sudden Belzium, an ore Huttsgalor relies on, sends Leyla to Astrid's former home, the ten year old girl meets Berk's own dragon riders. 

Across the archipelago though, are dragon hunters on the hunt for the supposed fastest dragon in the world. The Swift Fury. When the two local Swift Furies hand their egg over to the Wing Maidens, it becomes a race to protect her, as she's apart of something big.
