Yves is a child born into the Crow Clan, a band of nomadic people worshipping the god of Crows. When she was only a toddler, her mother betrayed the Crow Clan, leading the Wolves to the temporary camp. Violence and murder ensued, and Yves was lucky to escape with her life. The memory of watching her own mother's expressionless mask whilst Yves was tied to a pyre and set alight, however, is a memory she cannot forget. Also on that fateful day, the Wolves stole the Crow Ove, a powerful weapon imbued with the Crow God's own magic. Years later, Yves has become a valued member of the Crow Clan and hopes to lead them to salvation and riches, regaining their previous strength, their Ove, and their homeland. But, Yves must also hide from the other clans, because she has been gifted by the Crow God - and as soon as her wings finish growing, she will have the power of flight.
