Just a simple short story, sloppy work of course, but please give me feedback on it! It's a love story in a way, a guy and a girl, who have dated before are feeling something for each other again. Hope you all enjoy! (I'll be editing this as time passes, it is based on a true story, most of it of course)

[Small Town / Second Chance] When Jen heads back to her hometown after ten years to celebrate her grandmother's 70th birthday, she knows she'll have to face Matt, once the love of her life. But what both of them don't expect is to have the feelings they had long buried inside to flourish back to life along with walls of resentment, and a sizzling attraction. ***** Jennifer Bloom has completely escaped her small-town past. She's a successful interior designer with great clients and everything she's ever wanted. But when she's called back home to help plan her grandmother's 70th birthday party, she's partnered up with Matthew Hunt - once the love of her life. He's lived in town his whole life, and he's handsome, strong, kind, and the only man who's ever made her heart race. Experiencing life with Matthew again reminds Jennifer of all the things she's missing, even though she's got everything she once wanted. At one point, all those years ago, they thought they'd be spending their lives together, but life threw them a curveball, forcing her to make the decision to leave and never look back. Now, they realize love was never an issue; their problem has always been everything that comes in-between. He'd never move to the city, and Jennifer can't leave the life she's built behind. Walls of resentment still block the way, even though their love for each other still burns strong in their hearts. Can true love bridge the distance between them? Is love ever enough to make a relationship work? Is it finally their second chance?

~"When are you going to do what's best for you Sadie? All you ever do is what's best for Hallie and push your own wants and needs to the bottom of the pile and let it hurt everyone else in the process."~ Sadie Taylor has been back in her hometown for 6 short months. After leaving 11 years ago, it's fair to say that her life now is a 180 spin on the free innocent teenager she left as. With her 9 year old daughter, Hallie, in toe, Sadie needs to find a new kind of normality where se can release the reins of control and learn to let go a little. She's more than happy taking things at her own pace. Hoping that if she moves slow enough, she can keep her and her daughter in their own little bubble that has kept them safe all these years. But with the arrival of a familiar stranger arriving at Black Oak Ranch, things are set to be more complicated than she'd been counting on. Ryder Matthews fucked up and he knows it. 11 years ago, he left the love of his lie in some pre-college life freak out and when he returned 3 years later, she was gone. After spending the better part of 14 months travelling the world in hopes of finding some kind of meaning to life outside of the little town where every turn is a burning memory of Sadie, he returns with no hope. He's stuck to deal with his consequences. A week after his return home, Ryder heads to Jack Taylor's ranch to get his old farm hand job back. When he steps out of the car, a 9 year old girl greets him and when her mom comes to see what the fuss is all about, he's met with the last person he thought he'd ever see back in Alcombey. Let alone with a child. Ryder and Sadie have a lot of baggage to unpack if they have any hope of being able to tolerate working together. But when his heart is still beating for her and her heart is locked behind solid concrete walls, is that even possible?

Tommy Sallow is onto better and brighter things. After working a small hometown beat in upstate New York, he's finally in sunny California. As expected, it's the same shit in a different town. The guy who's always there for everyone else just wants someone to meet him halfway and things are looking grim, to say the least. Never one to believe in fate, what he definitely didn't see coming was Amber, a small and complicated piece of home he's never quite been able to forget about. ~♡~ Amber Hill always dreamt of having the perfect family. She thought marrying her college sweetheart and starting a family with him would be her happily ever after. But when that picture perfect family breaks, she's forced to move back to her hometown in California with her daughter, Mia. Riddled with uncertainty over the future, Amber hopes to regain a shred of normalcy for her daughter and reclaim the pieces of herself that she's lost along the way. But starting over is never easy, especially when a familiar face from the past shows up. When fate seems to lend a hand after all, Tommy and Amber's worlds collide, challenging them both in ways they never imagined.
