Elena Adams has had a rough life. Her mother left her after the death of her sister and her brother never comes around. She's left alone with her drunk father. She's got a mouth on her though and will stand up to anyone who fucks with her or her friends. Reece Parkers life is golden, well except for the being dragged in a gang thing. He's the schools player/ bad boy. He's cocky, carefree and hot. He's tough and fearless... until Elena came along. She became his weakness in a matter of days. "I wanna punch you in the face" I squinted my eyes. Just then an apple snacked him right in the head. Lauren and I curled our lips in so we wouldn't laugh "my point p-proven" I bursted out into laughter He squinted his eyes and stood up "Who threw it!" All eyes were on him. I exchanged looks with Lauren before we gave him our attention again "Caleb please get down" I laughed He shook his head "No Lena" he looked at the jock table and jumped off the table stomping their way "who did it?" Lauren and I jumped out of out seats and ran to him "Caleb stop. They're gonna beat your ass" I made slight eye contact with Reece, his grey eyes stared into my soul and he gave me a blank expression. I looked at Caleb "Go now!" I pointed back to our table "Lena I got a fucking apple to the head" he frowned "I ain't leaving until I find out who it was" "I did it" Dylan smirked "but it was aimed for Kayne"

The rooftop scene played in slow motion in her eyes. Her boyfriend's hands wrapped around her best friend, their lips locked, their laughter echoing in the crisp morning air. Her heart didn't just break it turned to dust. The voices in her head chuckled darkly, whispering like shadows: "If you had chosen him... you wouldn't be in pain. He would never betray you. He has been watching, waiting... a red flag to the world, but to you... a green light." She staggered back, her breath trembling. "Who... who are you?" she whispered, pressing her hands to her ears. "We are your choices. Your paths. And the gangster who scares everyone? He would rather die than see you cry." The voices faded, but their words rooted in her chest. The next day in class, she could barely focus. Everyone knew her as the quiet girl who never caused trouble, but now her world tilted sideways. When she glanced at the back corner, she caught him staring Raven, the school's infamous gangster. He leaned against his chair lazily, tattoos peeking from under his sleeve, but his eyes those sharp, storm colored eyes softened the moment they met hers. She quickly looked away, cheeks burning. At lunch, she found her seat empty. Her supposed best friend didn't sit beside her anymore. Her ex avoided her completely, as if she was the one at fault. She tried to eat, but her throat closed up. Then a tray slammed down across from her. "You're not eating," Raven muttered, sitting down uninvited. Her eyes widened. "Why are you-" "Because you look like hell," he cut in. "And because I told myself if I ever see you cry over someone who isn't me, I'll make them regret it." Her stomach knotted. Was he joking? Threatening? Or... protecting? Before she could answer, the voices whispered again-only she could hear them: "See? He burns for you. Dangerous to others, safe for you. Don't push him away..."
