Lionel, a young zoology student was abandoned by his Nanny to cater for himself, because he was considered to have reached the stage of maturity. After his Nanny's departure, Lionel went on living his independent life which resulted in his contact with a fortune-teller who addresses him as a Lion after saving her life.

Shortly after the incident, Lionel started transforming into a Lion-like beast at night, causing terror in the whole of New Midland. Lionel went on searching for the fortune teller to release him of the beastly bondage he just found himself in, but to his surprise, the fortune teller wasn't responsible for his mystery.
