The fall of Beacon Academy left Yang with her fair share of scars, both physical and mental. Recovering from her injuries back home in Patch, she spends her nights sleepless as the memory of her failure to protect her partner keeps her awake. When confronted with the possibility that Blake is, once again, in danger Yang sets out to find her. A familiar black ribbon remains tied around her wrist. She will not fail her again. Running. Blake was becoming a master at it. After her partner nearly died trying to save her, Blake ran home to Menagerie. She can't run from her nightmares though as she wakes almost every night screaming for Yang. When her demons once again catch up to her Blake is left with no other option than to face them. The familiar red shotgun shell tied around her neck a constant reminder of what they took from her. She will not let them hurt her again. As both girls discover their reasons for protecting their partner they also begin to discover more about themselves. Is it just partners wanting to protect each other...or is it much more?
