India is a beauiful girl and everyone can see this even when she is a baby. Her parents die when she is only one. As she has no close relatives, her parents had put down her mothers friend to mind her if they died. Unfortunatly, her mother only sees her friends true side a few days before she dies and she didn't have time to change the will.
Gilda, her gaurdian, though becomes jealous of her India's beauty and youth. She finds a magic book which leads her to put a terrible curse on India.....to sleep away most of her life. She would wake up only four times a year, for just one day and one night. Then she would fall asleep until the next season. This way she would sleep away all her youthfullness and beauty. Time really would fly for her. This wasn't enough for Gilda though, who truly despised India with all her stone cold heart.
Every time India would wake up, she would wake up in a different place, and she would have to fend for herself until she woke again.
