I suddenly felt a strange pain in my stomach, like there was something eating away at my insides. I sucked in a hard shallow breath and hoped the pain would vanish after a second. It didn't after I waited hundreds of seconds. "Ebony Briggs!" My mom yelled from the other room, "What is happening!?" I was in too much pain to answer. Instead I just groaned. The turkey sandwich I had just downed weighed like a rock in the pit of my stomach. I heard my moms footfalls coming closer and closer to my room. "Ebony!" she sounded desperate. I felt my stomach scream in pain. The last thing I saw before I was flooded in darkness was my moms terrified face.
