What it means to be popular

Maddy is a Freshman in high school. At home the small two room condo is empty, dark, and lifeless. Much like her father is. He beats her. He's a drunk. But that doesn't stop Maddy.

At school it's not much better. She stays out of the house as much as possible between work, school,soccer, and longboarding. She doesn't have many friends due to pushing them all out when her mother died.

Her mother was the backbone of the family,when she died the home she left behind turned into nothing more than a black hole of sorrow.

But what happens when quite, hotheaded, football star, runs into Maddy in the hallway, literally! Will they grow closer? Will secrets be reveled?
