Wiedziony desperacją, ucieka z rodzinnego domu na wsi, by udać się w niebezpieczną podróż do górskiego miasteczka, w którym rzekomo go pochowano.  Po drodze musi jednak zmierzyć się z potwornymi bestiami, potężnymi czarodziejami i przerażającą tajemnicą, w której uwikłana jest jego najbliższa rodzina.
