When a werewolf is rejected by their mate, there are two possible outcomes. First, they could become insane. They lose themselves to the pain and, as a result, lose their humanity. They become a full wolf, a Rogue. Rogues are both pitied and loathed by the werewolf world. They are vicious creatures with no morals and a lust for blood. The second outcome is a slow and painful death. They will suffer 'episodes' that will become more painful as time passes without their mate, until their body gives out and they die. What happens during these 'episodes' varies from werewolf to werewolf. All die within two months. Nealuchi, or Neal, is the exception. Rejected by his mate four years ago, he suffers at least one of his 'episodes' every day and yet he is still alive and still retains his sanity.

This story isn't particularly an LGBTQ+ but there is a lesbian couple involved and a lot of my friends are part of the LGBTQ+ community and I support them all. Therefore I've tagged this #WattPride.
