When the bloodline that now holds the throne took over, the king had wanted to make his people trust him. He had wanted them to feel safe and not threatened. In order to do so, he exiled the Assassins and their families to an Island that is a two- day trip by sea known now as Alynthi. It was a place where assassins could train and live without the fear of the common people interfering with their work. The families claimed that they understood but they still feel as if they had been handed the lower end of the stick. Still Assassins are kept on Alynthi until they are recruited by the king. Once recruited they are able to leave the island whenever they please. Until then, none of them are able to leave.
As time went on, three Assassins who had been training most of their lives were called upon by the king in order to fulfill a task. Of the three assassins, one was a girl. She was the youngest one to ever leave the island as well as the only female ever to be recruited by the king. As Cullen, Braelyn, and Wyatt attempt to please the king by fulfilling his wishes, they will be faced with danger, death, magic and choices that could cost them their lives. After all it's what assassins do.
