Sexual Harassment!
The word that is a nightmare for so many women and even men. 90% of women face molestation each and every day. Ask your mother she faced it, ask your sister even she did. Ask your daughter, wife , friend. Everyone was sexually harassed atleast for once.
Molestation is not only the physical touch but the behaviour that makes you feel uncomfortable. So uncomfortable that you feel like isolating yourself from this cruel world.
No these thoughts are not from a feminist because i am not a feminist but i am a victim. Victim of molestation, victim of sexual harassment.
Yes. I was being catcalled at the age of 5. The age when you don't have any idea about what molestation is. This is the age when you start getting the idea of what is the difference between bad and good touch. This is not something that my parents taught me but the world did. I was being touched when I was 7yrs old. Do you think they got pleasure? What pleasure do you get from a 7yrs old child? Or might be my dress. How did a child's dress provoke someone? Was it my fault?
Yes I am a 23yrs old grown up lady now. I have idea about what molestation is. Even today I have to think before stepping outside after 8 pm. Even today I have to choose my dress carefully so that it doesn't provoke others.
Its a high time now. We have to take a step. For all the parents who have lovely daughters, for all the guys who love their sisters. Be free to your child and siblings so that if something goes wrong atleast they can come and talk to you. Give them the idea of good and bad touch. They should not face such things because they dont deserve it. Even if they do face it they should be able to come and speak to you.
We have to take some steps before your daughter, your sister, your wife or even your friends become the next victim.
And here i am proud to say that yes i was harassed and molested but i am strong.Strong enough to withstand any storms. Strong .Strong enough to raise my voice against it.
