Randalia was her name; in her language it meant the bitter-sweetness of a flower. They traveled the woodlands, the four of them: Randalia the eldest, her sisters Pierce and Fira, and their father Farrant; but within them lay a secret so chilling only the wolves of the forest could reveal it. Randalia, growing into adolescence, is trained in the arts of war by the mysterious Queen of the Forest, Dame Lady Lass, until she faces her final challenge on the battlefield of the Sacred Lands.
