We've all heard of Ariel, right?
She falls in love with a human prince, saves his life and her dad gets seriously pissed off?
He grounds her and she sneaks out, makes a deal with a shady witch on a dangerous condition and runs away to meet her prince?
Witch decides she cant let the princess win and decides to cheat?
The prince falls in the witch's trap but somehow finds out the truth before he makes possibly the biggest mistake of hes life?
But the lovers end up losing anyways, and the witch gloats her win?
The princess' dad, aka the king, worried for his daughter, offers the witch his life in place of her daughter's?
Witch goes over the moon, seeing as how she got what she wanted anyways and sets about tyrannizing every life in the sea?
But when all seems lost, the prince challenges the witch, and against all odds, wins (considering how the witch completely fooled him a few hours ago)?
The prince graciously returns the oceans to his (hopefully) future father in law?
When the king returns to power, he sees how much the two youngsters love each other and decides to give his blessings and even goes as far as to give his daughter human legs?

What a cliche, right?
I mean, no offense but if my father found out I fell in love with anyone, he'd probably kill me then and there...

But what if that wasn't what happened?

Cassalyn Diao is used to making enemies of all kinds, but none have ever come close to truly hurting her. So when she stumbles upon a plot that could set her nation back by years, she runs to her old allies at the Arecian Secret Service for aid. Marcus Dalton has been looking for Cass since their last disastrous last encounter years ago, but he didn't expect their next meeting to begin with her passing out bleeding on his front doorsteps. But he'll take the chance to reconcile with her and try to put their past behind them. It won't be easy, though, with their cunning enemy seeking ways to silence Cass and her own refusal to let anyone in again. The two will have to work together against the ticking clock to survive this game of cat-and-mouse and come out with both their hearts and heads intact.
