Julia Gilbert is the youngest twin of Jeremy Gilbert, but she can sometimes act like the oldest. Julia and Jeremy are closer than her and Elena, main because of the bond they share being twins.

Even though the two sisters used to be the best of friends, that all changed after the death of their parents, they've grown apart. The three siblings have different ways of mourning, Jeremy turning to drugs and alcohol, Elena turned to writing in her journal, while Julia turned into something different altogether. She used to the the quiet Gilbert, but times have changed, she's now know as the loud Gilbert.

She is friends with Caroline's younger sister, Alicia. Matt's little brother, Joshua. Tyler's younger sister, Macy, and Alexander Hashman or "Alex," what most kids call him. Julia likes to hang out with Josh the most, because of the huge crush de had on him, while he likes to hang out with his older brother. Julia's friends know of her crush on Josh, they tease her about it when Josh isn't around.

After dating Josh for 7 months, they break up, remaining friends, before a mere 2 months and she stumbles upon a new face in town. This man is more dangerous than she's ever experienced, someone that will change her life forever. Alicia, Macy, Josh, and Alex are the only ones that's know of her new crush.

Not only do her family warn her of the dangers that follow this man, but also her friends. Julia doesn't know anything of the supernatural, nor the powers she holds inside her. Until she meet him, and he just so happens to be.............................................................................................................her soulmate.
