Life. It seems to pass by so fast. It's like a video game where everyone is fighting the same bosses, but on different levels. War is just an arena. Another boss, or chapter in a story. My story. I'm fighting for too many things, and too many people.

Everything was taken away so easily. A puppet on a string, and the UNSC is pulling the strings. They tell you what to think, and eat, and do.

I learn how to survive. I survived the War boss, and I want to share how, so that others will understand. Bring spartan is no game. No victory. Not an achievement.

It's pain, emptyness, and death.

See in my story there are blanks spaces, or gaps in the paper. Places where ONI has hidden their lies from the public. I will tell you my story, but you must see Behind the Lines.

When the Aliens, the Covenant, invaded, it seemed as if Mankind had no hope. Then the Spartans came to the rescue. These genetically modified super soldiers, originally meant to quell insurrectionist activity, now held the fate of their race in their hands. Many died for the cause, and many victories were won because of their intervention. Through all the dirt and blood, one rose above them all, Master Chief, or John 117. This ultimate Spartan II, paired with the special AI, or artificial intelligence, Cortana, led humanity to victory time and time again, escaping death more times than thought possible. However, after defeating the zombie-like Flood that threatened humanity and aliens alike, he disappeared without a trace. With hope at an all time low, and alien threats still on the horizon, something had to be done. This is the purpose of Steele, Spartan 118. Despite the process being banned after Spartan IIs, humanity is desperate, and so he's kidnapped, trained, and augmented the same as the original Spartan IIs by Dr. Catherine Halsey. The pressure is now on to replicate the Master Chief through him, and the road of Hero will not be easy. Secrets are kept from him, trust is broken, and hidden enemies threaten his life and those around him. However, Steele was chosen for a reason, and those who threaten the innocent better watch out. A New Hero Has Risen. _____________________________________ Takes place during the years of the popular video games Halo 3, Halo 4, and beyond. [COMPLETED] •Being revised... AGAIN (Progress: Intro-Chap. 3)• "We're going back... Understand? There are more threats out here than we anticipated, and they're all after you-" Lukas' voice erupted into static and chunks... I glared at the man in all black as the light continued to beam and blind me. Without my glasses it was actually painful. And then there was silence. My bare feet hit the metal floor of wherever we had jumped to, and I put my hand up to shield my eyes from the vicious attack of bright light. Not again." Alexi Callidus is living in a post-apocalyptic world... In the 25th Century. The year is 2470. She's been surviving on her own for 4 years and 8 months inside the same building with her only companion without seeing the sun. 5 years after the brutal unexplained murder of her family. 7 years after the genetic disaster of "GASP". 7 years and 4 months after the War of Nations. Everything seems to be barren and empty... But if her super old sci-fi movies didn't teach her that looks deceive, nothing will. Technology, before "GASP" (Genetically Altered Soldiers Program) and the War of Nations, was insane. You could be teleported in the blink of an eye, or healed from a once fatal injury in days. With the majority of the population infected with a viral genetic plague, almost any of the survivors could access this technology... Including Alexi. When a simple quest for survival turns into a journey of a lifetime, will Alexi be able to survive the weight of the gruesome truth when she finally uncovers it? Halo 4 Reclamation - Alternate Universe Halo Story by Chris9417
16 parts Complete
In an alternate universe of Halo, the Master Chief and Cortana arrive on Earth after their harrowing journey through the stars, but with a dark twist-Cortana is rapidly succumbing to Rampancy. In a desperate bid to save her, the Chief seeks out Dr. Halsey, the brilliant scientist who created her, only to discover that the only way to preserve Cortana's consciousness is to upload her into a human host. The process will "kill" the human's mind, leaving Cortana as the sole occupant of the body, effectively replacing them. In a shocking turn, Dr. Halsey volunteers herself, offering up her own life to save the AI that has become so much more than just a tool. Halsey undergoes the procedure, and what emerges is a new, human version of Cortana-still carrying the brilliance and tactical genius of the AI, but now trapped in a fragile human form. With ONI breathing down their necks and the UNSC labeling them as fugitives, Chief and Cortana (now Halsey) are forced into a high-stakes escape. Together, they must navigate treacherous waters, relying on the very skills and knowledge that made them the ultimate weapons of war. As they flee to the fringes of the galaxy, they set up a hidden outpost where Cortana/Halsey begins to harness both human and AI strengths to outwit their enemies. With new alliances and strategies at their disposal, they must take the fight to ONI, knowing that the path forward could alter the future of humanity-and their own survival-forever. This is a story of sacrifice, survival, and a relentless fight for freedom against the very forces that created them.

Solemn Vigil

1 part Complete Mature

We've been around, for a very long time. We've watched innumerable scores of creatures die, watched empires crumble, great rulers wither away , and planets themselves collapse into barren wastelands devoid of life. But we've also seen races, brought back from the brink of extinction, kingdoms saved during their final hour, planets and entire star systems blossoming with life and prosperity, all because of our actions. Yet even so, too often have we been too late to save a planet, or a species, that we sometimes feel very small, very insignificant, when we think of the grandiose ideas many have of gods and their all encompassing power over the universe. Some have even gone so far as to call us a god, despite our failures, but we know better than to believe them. We are just as mortal as any other. But they persist in their beliefs, despite what we have told them, what we have shown them to be the truth. So for the time being, perhaps we are a god, at least in their eyes. They even gave us a name ; Providence. -------------------------------------------------------------- Join the ragged band of twelve survivors following the events of Risk of Rain as they face off against the game's enigmatic final boss - Providence.
