3 months after the aftermath of the Battle of Manhattan, Steve and Athena are reinstated as partners as S.H.I.E.L.D field operatives.
But after an accident and almost 2 years, they must join Natasha Romanoff, Sam Wilson, and the rest of the remaining S.H.I.E.L.D to fight the newly resurfaced Hydra threat, as well as the Winter Soldier.
