Scott Summers hates who he's become. He's made so many mistakes, and he doesn't think he can be forgiven for many of them.

But the one thing he thinks he can do right, the one good decision he can make for himself, is to stop the cycle of bad decisions, get out from under the weight of the hole he's dug for himself, and leave.

Only... he's never left anything or anyone before. Sure, others have left him, but Scott? Leaving?

He doesn't even know where to start.

As Scott makes his way toward Alaska, wandering through Canada on the way there, he confronts not only his inner demons put some pretty darn real ones as well.

But he'll also meet the Hale family, a group of displaced Southern belles and their family who welcome Scott into their homes and treat him just like they would anyone else. It's an actual, honest-to-Galactus chance to start over, and Scott's going to take it.

This fic is part of the 714 Universe and should be read before Volume 3 ("Kree, Shi'ar, and Skrulls, Oh My!") because that volume is when we bring Scott and Annie into the picture. But it's also a great standalone imho. Thanks as always to my cowriter in this universe, CanuckleheadCowgirl.

"As long as you're in it, Wills, I've got the world already." | *𝐔𝚸𝐃𝚨𝐓𝐄𝐒 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐘 𝐖𝐄𝐄𝚱* | Willow never thought she'd belong to a group until those two men saved her ass in the alley. After being separated from her brother in the big city, it was up to her to get her daughter to safety- until a sheriff and a pizza delivery guy came along and saved them both. The dead owned the streets of Atlanta, pushing her new group further and further out. As they encounter deadly obstacles and power-hungry survivors, the numbers in her group begin to dwindle, and she finds herself holding on to these people more and more. The struggle to maintain the groups humanity is a constant battle, but as relationships form between these strangers turned family, they're willing to carry each other as they pave the way to a new world. There's no denying that Willow has a strong bond with the younger Dixon brother. It came as a shock to everyone. They are two drastically different people, yet somehow they understand each other the most. From the moment they met at the quarry camp on the outskirts of Atlanta, their friendship was off to a rocky start. They both had shadows from their past that haunted them, but as their relationship progressed, those shadows were diminished as the flame between them grew. | [ Daryl Dixon x OC ] [ Some smutty content ] [ Slow burn ] [ Episode by episode ] [ Seasons 1 - 11 ] [CONTAINS SOME ORIGINAL PLOTS] [ Started 11/25/22 ] [ Finished : ONGOING ] | * I do not own any of the characters or story line besides Willow and her story | Highest Ranks: #1 - TWD #1 - thewalkingdead #1 - daryldixon #1 - maggiegreene #1 - rickgrimes #1 - carlgrimes #1 - normanreedus #1 - daryl #1 - reedus #1 - carolpeletier

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!

A fabulous continuation of the newly minted 714 Universe where we give our favorite characters the opportunity to be happy then sit back and see what they do with it! Volume 1 ("A Wolverine, An Elf, and a Hawkeye") is over on CanuckleheadCowgirl's profile. In this volume, Kate Bishop has moved into the school with her boyfriend, Kurt Wagner. And while this means awesome things like sleepovers with Storm and parties with her new friend Jubilee, it also means all sorts of issues that she's never dealt with. Anti-mutant rhetoric, Sentinels, angry mobs, and even demonic issues ... the Avengers never had to deal with anything like this. So it's probably a good thing the Wolverine is around to help train her up! This is a continuing work with @CanuckleheadCowgirl. For Volume 1 (and all odd-numbered volumes), go to her profile. I've got Volume 2 and all even-numbered volumes... and a few side fics as well, as those go up ;)
