Elly is a six year old girl who is paralyzed from the waist down, she lives with her mother, who is a marksman for the Army, and her father is deployed in Afghanistan. She has been gifted with some of the skills her mother has in sniping. Elly imagines her teddy bear, Captain Cuddles, the pirate, doing amazing adventures, she herself is thrust into a confusing world, and her only comfort is knowing that her teddy does a lot more dangerous stuff than her, but that may change. Captain Cuddles is pushed into an adventure where he must save his world while also trying to take it over.

When Jake kills the stalker, he ends up killing himself too, and now Emily can only see him in her dreams.
