Esme's life has never been simple with an absent hole in her life where her mother was supposed to be but it's all she's ever known. Living with her dad, a struggling writer, money is tight and anything from glamorous.
But this time when her dad decides to move again to "change up the scenery" or in other words they got evicted again she decides to change up the scenery of her own life, too.
At her new school, where no one knows her or her past, she takes up the facade of a brand new Esme. Remaking herself into an Esme from England with a charming British accent, two rich parents, and loads of made up stories from her old prestigious boarding school. She is instantly roped into the popular group, catches the eyes of the cutest boy in school, and meets her unusual lab partner.
As she entangles herself deeper into these lies she learns to balance her perfect fantasy life with her not so dazzling home life with her avid father.
What could possibly go wrong? I mean, if her father could write his own stories why couldn't she with her life?
