Liora lives a good life. She has shelter, food, and family. But she's always wanted more. In her village of San Marral, boys are valued more than girls, choosing who they'll marry, where they'll live, and what they do. Women are expected to follow the men like a herd of sheep. Liora wants to be more than a pretty face.
She gets the chance to make her dreams a reality at the annual Choosing. Usually, 5 boys are chosen to become dragons. However, only 4 are chosen. The 5th dragon rider is found to be Liora.
Follow our heroine as she navigates the complexities of being the only girl in an all-boys world and bullying, thievery, and murder attempts.
