In that moment, my instincts fight or flight kicked in my brain giving me two options to choose from cower back home or risk my life for someone who might already be dead. Going against my better judgement, I sprinted into the forest with amazing speed and agility I never knew I had, until I heard the growls only a few feet away from me only I didn't see any wolves well not any alive ones anyways. Laying in front of me was a dead wolf pup, silver in color it's head was ripped off and speared to a tree. Not knowing what to do I took a step forward to snap a quick photo when a giant black wolf with calculating amber eyes jumped out from behind the trees to stand over the dead pup, to protect it. Looking around for anything to fight with I grab a long thick branch and start swinging it around.
The wolf's eyes never leave mine, panicking I sprint off into another direction in the now ominous forest hoping but failing at escape from the wolf as it starts to chase after me. Running past the towns borderline I risk a glance back, huge mistake I trip on a branch in the road falling face first onto the hard concrete road. Hurriedly, I turn around and grab the branch and close my eyes preparing for the attack of the black wolf, but to my surprise it never came

The Run

The crunching of dry leaves under my feet alert me so I cast my eyes to the floor and watch as I step on each individual leaf and dry twig, enjoying the snapping sounds that echo through the near silent forest. Gnarly roots dip into ground and twisted branches reach down, fingers grasping the air, as if reaching for me and I shiver, thinking of my father. I cast my eyes up to think of something else and instantly calm as another puff of breeze rustles the leaves on the trees and ground gently. I look ahead and notice the steady thinning of the old trees and run towards it, loving the feeling of the air in my air and clothes.
