The world's countries are truly ruled by the 1% (the rich and powerful). Democracy is extinct. Every year in order to win the favor of the higher ups, 10 random countries put on a death show for the entertainment of the people of Eden by picking one school from each country and sending 13 random kids to fight on their behalf. The Winners gain fame and glory, access to Eden and their country is looked on as strong with continued support and favouritism from Eden. Rebellion is difficult due to Eden having access to the most advanced technology and a monopoly of robot warriors which are constantly under mass production. 130 combatants total.
