The Substitute Bride

I grew up believing that the sole purpose of my existence is to be the shadow of my older sister, Yttrice Maxine Lorente. Ever since we were little she have everybody wrapped around her fingers. All the attention and adoration, the spotlight, has always been in her favor. Always.

While me, Yskaela Marie Lorente, has been the one who continuously craved for our family's attention and approval. Because ever since I was born, there's no such moment that I've ever felt wanted for just existing. I always have to work so hard to be given a tiny bit of attention, of affection. But no matter how hard I try, no matter how big I achieve, I'm nothing but a shadow. Still, they couldn't see me as who I am.

Kaya naman wala akong ibang ginawa but to please them. Wala ni isang beses akong humindi o tumanggi sa lahat ng gusto nila. I let them live and control my life, just to get that approval. Just to be the receiving end of their affections.
