Alex Danvers and Maggie Sawyer meet as soldiers overseas. For Sergeant Maggie Sawyer's remaining months on tour, she was transferred to the same base as Staff Sergeant Alexandra Danvers. They are forced to rely on each other in combat and grow closer as Maggie's tour comes to a close. With promises to meet back up when Alex comes home, Maggie leaves her to finish out her final month.
Their plans, however, don't go as expected. Alex is unable to carry out the rest of her time when a mission goes awry and leaves her severely injured, fighting for her life in a hospital bed. Alex must find a way to cope with her new reality with the help of her friends, family, and girlfriend.
This is a story of trials and tribulations and beautiful love.
