In Manhattan, New York 1945, Stella Parker is a lonesome prostitute working on the streets day and night living in a run down, remote motel. That is until she meets Nancy barker, a wife of a wealthy gambler and pimp. Stella finds a confused, distraught, and broken Nancy in a local bar. Secrets are exchanged in a not-so-sober moment with Stella and Nancy in her motel. Although both women lead completely different lives, they both have one thing in common. They're both lesbians. A relationship blooms between the two in the blink of an eye. But risks must be taken and love must be discreet. One kiss could mean not only the end of their affairs but possibly their lives.
